The Lansdowne Hotel Sydney
We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Person to support the upkeep of The Lansdowne Hotel and Hostel.
This is a casual position ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and capable of managing their own time. You’ll be given a weekly or ongoing task list and will be responsible for planning your schedule to complete the work efficiently, while working under the guidance of our Maintenance Manager.
About the Role
You will be responsible for completing a wide range of maintenance tasks across hostel rooms, common areas, bar, kitchen, gig spaces, and rooftop areas.
Example Duties
- General maintenance (doors, locks, blinds, windows)
- Installing fixtures (hooks, shelves, TV units, signage)
- Basic plumbing fixes and investigating leaks
- Painting and patching walls, ceilings, and rooms
- Cleaning and preventative maintenance (mould, drains, filters)
- Basic air conditioning troubleshooting and reporting faults
How This Role Works
- Casual position with flexible hours
- Tasks are provided via structured to-do lists
- You manage your own schedule to complete work
- Work under supervision of Maintenance Manager
What We’re Looking For
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience
- Ability to work across basic trades
- Strong time management and organisation
- Reliable and able to work independently
Bonus Skills
- Painting experience
- Hospitality or hotel background
- Basic HVAC knowledge
