Connecting people, culture, and knowledge
At Blacktown Arts, culture, place and people shape the work we do every day. Our community values open spaces and places where people can connect. Public art helps share local stories, strengthen a sense of belonging and create opportunities for people to learn, reflect and engage with their city.
As the Public Art Project Officer, you manage public art projects from concept through to delivery. You coordinate artist commissions, prepare contracts, manage project plans and schedules, and work with artists, contractors and Council teams to keep projects moving. You contribute to city wide public art strategies, support reviews of public art proposals, assist with promotional materials, and provide advice on the care and maintenance of Council’s public artworks.
Working within the City Living directorate, you support major public art projects linked to Council’s Transformational Projects, including Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant projects. You work closely with the Coordinator Cultural Planning and Public Art to help shape public spaces that reflect the identity and diversity of Blacktown.
This role suits someone who enjoys managing multiple projects, pays attention to detail and provides excellent customer service to artists, contractors, community members and Council stakeholders.
Join a motivated team, with professional development opportunities. Your work helps create a more connected, inclusive and culturally rich city.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
