What your day could look like
As Deputy Director Health Information Services, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, quality and strategic use of health information across the service. From influencing system-wide data practices to supporting clinicians and leaders with reliable insights, your work will directly strengthen patient care and service delivery.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Guiding strategic direction and operational delivery of health information services to achieve high-quality data and reporting outcomes
Partnering with clinical and corporate teams to strengthen policies, data governance and information use across the organisation
Leading improvements in data quality, coding capability and reporting performance to inform evidence-based decisions
Providing expert advice on legislation, privacy, and information management, supporting complex matters including audits and legal requests

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
A degree in health information management (or equivalent) and eligibility for professional membership
Strong experience delivering health information services in a complex healthcare environment
Advanced knowledge of data governance, legislation and standards within public health
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and lead
You'll stand out if you have experience in regional healthcare settings and/or advanced professional development in health information management.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage, helping deliver trusted information that supports better health outcomes across the Darling Downs.
