The Brighter Beginnings program is an innovative collaboration between NSW Health (Health) and NSW Department of Education (Education) to plan a collaborative service model in the delivery of preschool health and development checks.
The Brighter Beginnings Team Leader provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality services aligned with NSW Ministry of Health and SESLHD policies and standards. The role oversees team performance, fosters clinical excellence, and contributes to policy development within a strategic context. Working in partnership with the Early Years and School Health Services Manager and the broader Child, Youth and Family Services, the Team Leader supports clinical business activities, reporting, workforce performance, and service development to deliver strong clinical and operational outcomes.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award or Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award and current registration with a relevant Registration Board (AHPRA), or membership or eligible for membership of relevant recognised professional body and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Extensive clinical experience in child development. with demonstrated ability to provide consultation within and external to the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level of guidance, leadership and strategic management of staff, resources and services with a strong focus on building team capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes while applying evidence-based practice to enhance clinical outcomes within the clinical area.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Current drivers licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
