Your Opportunity
The Reconnect Program supports young people aged 12–18 years who are at risk of homelessness, are currently homeless, or are experiencing family conflict. Working across Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Ivanhoe, and Menindee, the program provides early intervention to strengthen family relationships and support young people to remain safely housed.
We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Case Worker to join our team and help create positive, lasting change for young people and their families.
As a Youth Case Worker, you will deliver early intervention, family-centred case management to young people and their families. This includes one-on-one support, family work, group programs, advocacy, and referrals to other services.
Due to the large geographical footprint of the program, outreach is a key part of this role. A pool car will be provided to support travel across the communities we serve.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Respond to referrals or approaches to the Program.

Deliver ongoing case management sessions with young people or whole families

Build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and partner agencies

Develop and conduct a range of groups and information sessions for families.

Participate in a range of interagency meetings, steering committees, and other forums.

Proactively identify and raise concerns relating to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
Qualifications & experience
-
Tertiary Qualification and / or relevant experience in the human services industry desirable

Knowledge and experience working with issues relating to youth homelessness including domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health.

Demonstrated experience in working therapeutically in partnership with young people and their families.

Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups.

First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Current NSW Driver's License
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
