Your Opportunity
Queensland Rail is looking for an experienced People Officer (HR Officer) to join our People team. In this role you will be responsible for advising, supporting and resolving intermediate HR queries while performing key administration and data maintenance tasks associated with the employee lifecycle including new employee onboarding, transfers and benefits.
- This is a fixed term Queensland Rail employment contract through to the end January 2027.

In this role you will
- Manage employee lifecycle transactions, including onboarding, appointments, transfers, extensions, progressions and cessations.
- Process HR workflows and maintain accurate employee records and data integrity.
- Provide advice on employment conditions, enterprise agreements, policies and procedures.
- Administer leave, flexible work arrangements and employment-related documentation.
- Deliver responsive HR support and resolve employee and leader enquiries.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who is adaptable, has a high attention to detail and who enjoys a fast-paced environment. You will have outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively with the wider team.
As well as:
- Experience managing high volumes of employee lifecycle activities and HR transactions.
- Knowledge of HR policies, employment conditions and industrial instruments and ability to interpret.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Experience using HR systems to manage records, workflows and data whilst maintaining data integrity.
- Excellent organisation skills; ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, SAP or similar HR Systems, will be highly regarded.
