Investment Banking Analyst — Job Description
Summary
Support deal execution, financial analysis, and client advisory across M&A, capital markets, and strategic financing transactions; produce high‑quality deliverables under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Build detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models, accretion/dilution) to support valuation and transaction analysis.
- Prepare pitchbooks, client presentations, CIMs, and marketing materials for live deals and business development.
- Conduct company, industry, and market research; analyze financial statements, KPIs, and comparable transactions/companies.
- Perform valuation analyses using multiples, precedent transactions, and sensitivity/scenario analysis.
- Support deal execution: prepare transaction documents, manage due diligence data rooms, coordinate with legal, tax, and clients.
- Assist in structuring equity and debt financings, IPOs, and secondary offerings; liaise with syndicate and distribution teams.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate internal teams, and ensure accuracy of deliverables and client materials.
- Draft meeting notes, transaction memos, and internal approval materials; present findings to senior bankers.
- Monitor market news, deal flow, and regulatory developments relevant to clients and sectors.
- Mentor analysts/interns and review junior work for quality and consistency.
- Participate in client meetings, roadshows, and calls; prepare Q&A and supporting materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- 0–3 years investment banking, corporate finance, or relevant transaction experience (analyst/associate levels adjusted by role).
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and presentation skills (PowerPoint).
- Ability to work long hours under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with capital markets, M&A processes, and regulatory considerations.
- Professionalism, discretion, and client-facing aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Technical skills: VBA, Python for financial analysis, Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ.
- Certifications: CFA Level I (or progress toward CFA) or relevant licensing where applicable.
- Sector knowledge (e.g., TMT, healthcare, energy) or language skills for cross-border deals.
Pay: $80.43 – $121.15 per hour
