This is an exciting opportunity to join ASIC's Finance team as an Assistant Finance Business Partner - ASIC 4. In this role, you will support the Finance Business Partners and Finance Business Partner Managers to provide timely financial reporting and analysis and assist budget managers with actionable insights to support informed decision-making and improved business performance.

The team
The Finance Business Partnering team provides strategic support to business managers to help them achieve their business plans through actionable financial insights that support decision-making and drive improved performance. The Chief Finance Office team provides a range of financial support and analysis services to ASIC's internal stakeholders.
The role
As the Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the Finance Business Partnering team in delivering key financial management activities, month-end processes, reporting and analysis, while building strong relationships with budget managers and internal stakeholders.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing strong working relationships with budget managers across your assigned area of responsibility.
- Supporting month-end activities, including reconciliations, journals, accruals, monthly reporting and administrative tasks.
- Undertaking analysis and reporting on financial performance, budgets, forecasts and other financial and performance metrics, including commentary on variances, trends and budget issues.
- Contributing to robust processes and accounting reviews to ensure financial management, budgets and commentary processes are accurate and meet business needs.
- Acting as a point of contact between business teams, groups and ASIC Finance to support accurate, reliable and timely financial reporting and commentary.
- Providing guidance and assistance to Finance stakeholders on the use of TechnologyOne.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports on a broad range of matters to support Finance projects.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in management accounting, budgeting or forecasting practices, gained within either the public or private sector.
Experience within a consulting environment, where you have supported multiple stakeholders and delivered financial insights to inform business decisions, will be highly regarded.
You will have experience in customer service, finance business partnering and/or administrative support across a range of business areas.
You will be confident analysing financial and management accounting information and simplifying complex information for business users. Experience delivering insightful reporting and analysis from large ERP systems, such as TechnologyOne and Power BI, will be highly regarded. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, data analysis, reporting and the ability to manipulate large datasets, will be highly beneficial.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desired.
You will also bring strong communication, problem-solving, project management and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to use data and business systems to support improved processes and business outcomes.
