THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director Business Portfolio and Delivery Management, Housing Portfolio, the Strategic Engagement Manager is a key role within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Branch. The Strategic Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless collaboration between IT and the broader organisation and acts as the primary point of contact and the "front door" for IT-related initiatives, requests, and engagements across the portfolio.
In this pivotal role, the Strategic Engagement Manager defines business problems and opportunities, collaborating with technology teams to co-design and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions. They actively shape initiatives and play a key role in aligning IT services and solutions with business needs, managing resource Strategic Engagement, driving service design improvements, and optimising the IT portfolio to deliver measurable business value. This includes providing oversight and ensuring alignment between initiative delivery, business objectives, and the organisation's future state architecture.
As a leader of a multi-disciplinary team, the Strategic Engagement Manager is responsible for coordinating and empowering team members to deliver high-quality outcomes, fostering collaboration, leveraging diverse skill sets, and ensuring consistent alignment with organisational priorities. They ensure effective cooperation across business and technology teams to shape, design, and deliver technology-enabled solutions that meet business needs and drive innovation.
The Strategic Engagement Manager serves as a trusted advisor, providing insights into risks, opportunities, and dependencies across ICT initiatives and guiding strategic prioritisation decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of business goals, operational challenges, and policy priorities, along with strong technical literacy and the ability to act as a bridge between technology and business.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Act as the primary point of contact and front door for all IT-related initiatives, requests and engagements across the portfolio.
- Establish and maintain trusted advisory relationships with business and technology stakeholders, ensuring a deep understanding of service delivery needs, strategic goals, and operational challenges.
- Work closely with corporate and frontline service areas to ensure ICT investments support policy and service transformation goals.
