Nordon Cylinders has a new opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join our team in Brendale. This is a hands-on technical sales role well-suited to someone with a strong background in hydraulic cylinder design or manufacture. You'll work directly with OEM clients and end users to understand their requirements and deliver cylinder solutions that meet real-world performance demands — backed by over 50 years of Australian manufacturing expertise.
- Collaborate with OEM clients and end users to understand technical requirements and develop appropriate cylinder solutions.
- Produce clear and accurate 2D hand sketches and drawings using AutoCAD for design records and client review.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometres and verniers.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Nordon's cylinder range and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical support and product recommendations throughout the sales process.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and technical documentation for clients.
- Liaise with production and procurement teams to initiate manufacturing and ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the engineering department on final design to ensure solutions meet technical and customer requirements.

- Proven experience in hydraulic cylinder design, manufacture, or a closely related engineering field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and confident hand sketching ability.
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to engage confidently with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Engineering qualification or trade background.
