About the role
The Excavator Operators position is a temporary, 6-month project role based in Bundaberg, QLD, commencing in June 2026. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of project works, contributing significantly to the project's success.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who are locally based in Bundaberg and surrounding regions.
Key responsibilities
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with project requirements
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Excavate, trench, load and move materials as directed
- Work around underground services and site infrastructure safely
- Assist with piling, ground improvement and civil construction activities as required
- Follow project plans, site instructions and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters and other site personnel
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and report hazards or incidents promptly
What you bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators in construction, civil or ground engineering environments
- Relevant excavator operating experience and competency
- Construction Industry White Card
- Current driver's licence
- Piling, ground engineering or civil construction experience (desirable)
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with other team members
- Additional plant tickets and licences (desirable)
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical
