Favourhill Care is seeking an experienced, reliable and energetic male Disability Support Worker for a long-term, consistent role in Dakabin, QLD, supporting a young teenager.
Family Preference
The family would prefer a male Support Worker who is Kiwi or Islander, as they feel shared cultural background may help build rapport and comfort.
The family also prefers someone who is physically strong, fit and solid-built, as this is an active support role.
About the Role
The participant has Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 2) and ADHD, with support needs around communication, social interaction, sensory processing and emotional regulation.
Support includes:
- Community outings and activities
- Biking, scooter riding, trampolining and theme parks
- Outdoor and recreational activities
- Building confidence, independence and social skills
- Church and community participation
- Encouraging new interests and positive routines
The participant has large dogs, so you must be comfortable around dogs.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in disability support, youth work, education or similar
- Experienced with Autism and/or ADHD (preferred)
- Active, energetic and physically capable
- Patient, calm and consistent
- Creative and confident supporting community activities
- Reliable and committed to regular shifts
- Comfortable around large dogs
- Professional, respectful and a strong communicator
Consistent weekend availability is strongly preferred.
Available Shifts
Monday: 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Thursday: 2:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (alternating)
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (preferred)
Wednesday & Friday unavailable.
