About Hearing Australia
Hearing Australia is a trusted leader in hearing health. With services across the country, we support and empower people of all ages and backgrounds with hearing solutions and care.
About the role
As our Solution Architect, you’ll work from discovery through delivery, helping teams make timely, well-reasoned design decisions aligned to business outcomes, IT strategy, and enterprise roadmaps. You’ll translate intent into clear solution designs and provide hands-on guidance through build, test, and release to ensure quality outcomes.
You’ll focus on our business application ecosystem—especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform—shaping solution designs, guiding delivery teams, and contributing to architecture standards and governance that keep our platforms secure, scalable, and supportable.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business and delivery teams to understand goals, constraints, and success measures, and translate needs into solution options with clear trade-offs.
- Lead pragmatic solution design decision-making and maintain clear records of key decisions and rationale.
- Produce proportionate solution designs (high-level and detailed) covering application, integration, data, and security considerations—appropriate to risk and complexity.
- Provide architectural guidance through delivery (build, test, release), including design reviews and support to teams to resolve technical issues and maintain quality.
- Ensure solutions meet required security, privacy, and compliance obligations, with risks and mitigations identified and tracked.
- Design and assure integrations and data flows across systems, promoting reuse, interoperability, and stable operations.
- Contribute to standards, patterns, documentation, and technical debt management to improve maintainability and supportability.
About you
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Solution Designer (or similar) delivering business applications from discovery to implementation and transition to operations (BAU).
- Strong solution design skills and documentation discipline (e.g., context/logical views, integration patterns, data flows, security considerations, and decision records).
- Confidence facilitating workshops and driving timely, pragmatic decisions with diverse business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience aligning solutions to enterprise strategy, roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures.
- Understanding of architecture governance (e.g., design reviews/assurance checkpoints) and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Solid grasp of integration concepts (APIs, messaging, ETL), identity and access, and cloud platform fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of security, privacy, and risk practices in enterprise environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to coach and support delivery teams to achieve quality outcomes.
- Highly regarded: experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform (or comparable enterprise SaaS/low-code platforms), including governance and lifecycle management.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent demonstrated experience) in a technical, scientific, or engineering discipline.
What matters most is your drive to deliver outcomes that help people who need us. You’ll bring a sense of responsibility, curiosity, and a practical mindset to solving problems that matter.
