Surf Life Saving Queensland is seeking passionate and qualified Lifeguards to supervise designated patrol areas, proactively manage beach and water safety risks, provide public safety advice, and respond to emergency situations with confidence and professionalism. What You’ll Do:

Monitor and patrol designated beach or lagoon areas.
- Establish and maintain safe bathing areas for the public.
- Identify and manage hazards to minimise risks.
- Respond to emergencies and perform rescues, first aid, and resuscitation when required.
- Maintain lifesaving skills and fitness standards.
- Complete incident reporting and operational documentation.
- Conduct equipment and vehicle checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Support community awareness and water safety education programs.
About You:
Essential

Ability to successfully complete required beach or lagoon fitness testing #
- SLS Bronze Medallion and Certificate II in Public Safety (or equivalent) *
- Current First Aid Certificate *
- Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate *
- Hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or have the ability to obtain
- Proof of identity and Australian work rights
- A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- Calm and decisive under pressure
- Passionate about community safety
- Physically fit and capable of meeting operational requirements
- Professional, reliable, and approachable

- SLSQ is offering successful applicants the opportunity to attend two fully funded three-day workshops (28-30 August and 4-6 September) to obtain the essential certifications for the role. All training and certification costs are provided free of charge, ensuring participants gain the skills and knowledge needed to commence their role with confidence. Please note that attendance at the workshops is unpaid.
