About the Role
A & K Plastering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Plasterer (Wall & Ceiling) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will carry out plasterboard fixing and jointing work across residential and commercial projects.
Key Duties
- Determine plasterboard layout and installation sequence
- Install insulation and vapour barriers as required
- Measure, mark, and cut plasterboard to specification
- Lift, position, and secure plasterboard to walls, ceilings, and battens
- Prepare corner beads and secure them in position
- Fix plaster and paper cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings
- Cover joints and screw fixings with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing with wet brushes and sandpaper
- Level and smooth finishes to a uniform standard
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and drawings
- Ensure work meets Australian Standards and building code requirements
- Maintain a safe worksite in accordance with WHS requirements
- Liaise with site supervisors, builders, and other trades to coordinate work schedules
Skills & Experience Required
- Related qualification in a relevant trade, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 2–3 years' relevant experience as a plasterer (wall & ceiling)
- Sound knowledge of plasterboard fixing and jointing techniques
- Ability to work from plans and specifications
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in various site conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality finishes
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
