About the role
This role assists students and academic staff in accessing library resources, developing digital and information literacy skills, and navigating academic research tools. The position contributes to the development of online learning materials, LibGuides, and resource collections that support student success in higher education and vocational education programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Library and Learning Support

Respond to student enquiries about library resources, and research strategies.

Assist students with database searches, locating scholarly sources, and accessing digital collections.

Provide basic guidance on referencing, academic research, and information literacy.

Support the delivery of library workshops, orientation sessions, and digital literacy activities.
Digital Library Services
-
Assist in maintaining and updating the library’s digital collections and resource platforms.

Maintain and update library content on LibGuides and other digital platforms.

Assist with the development of online learning resources and guides for students.
Academic Resource Support

Assist academic staff with locating suitable teaching and research resources.

Conduct database searches to identify relevant scholarly articles, eBooks, and other materials.

Support the Library and Learning Services Manager with collection development and resource evaluation.
Learning Support Content Development

Assist in developing learning support materials

Contribute to the creation of tutorials, guides, and instructional resources that support independent learning.
Library Systems and Technologies

Support the operation of digital library platforms, including discovery tools, databases, and authentication systems.

Assist with troubleshooting student access issues where required.

Maintain records and documentation relating to library resources and services.
Programs and Engagement

Assist in the promotion of library services to students and academic staff.

Contribute to the development of displays, orientation materials, and outreach activities.

Support library engagement initiatives that improve student awareness and usage of library resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Library and Information Services, or currently studying towards a library and information services qualification

Demonstrated experience in library databases and online information resources

Strong digital literacy and ability to work across multiple online platforms

Experience working in an academic, TAFE, or digital library environment

Working knowledge and understanding of library platforms
- Experience developing learning or research support materials
