Rail Saw Operator
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate the rail saw to cut and split sandstone blocks, ensure finished stone meets required dimensions and quality standards, and minimise waste loss.
2. Complete pre-shift inspection of rail saw guide rails, diamond wire, hydraulic and cooling systems; conduct equipment cleaning and routine minor maintenance.
3. Accurately record daily cutting output and equipment operating conditions. Report all equipment faults and safety hazards to Safety Officer / Mine Manager immediately upon discovery.
4. Strictly comply with Australian mine safety regulations, wear full personal protective equipment (PPE), and cooperate with on-site safety inspections.
5. Assist the team with transporting finished sandstone blocks, and coordinate operations with excavator and haulage truck operators.
Job Requirements
1. Hands-on operating experience of rail saws at sandstone quarries.
2. Familiar with routine rail saw servicing and basic fault troubleshooting; capable of replacing consumable parts independently.
3. Able to plan stone cutting layouts to control finished product quality and reduce material waste.
4. Knowledgeable of Australian mine safety legislation with hazard identification capabilities.
5. Able to work overtime and perform outdoor quarry duties, follow shift rosters and production scheduling. Multi-skilled candidates and candidates with Chinese language communication ability are preferred.
Diamond Wire Saw Operator
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate the diamond wire saw to extract sandstone from rock faces and cut blocks free from the mass rock, controlling cutting speed and precision.
2. Carry out pre-shift inspections of the wire saw main unit, diamond wire, water supply system and guide wheels, and complete routine equipment maintenance.
3. Clear the work zone prior to operation and install safety barriers to eliminate risks of falling rock and pipeline-related injuries.
4. Record excavation volume and consumable wear; shut down the machine immediately and report any equipment malfunctions.
5. Coordinate excavation workflows with excavator and rail saw operators, and conduct auxiliary on-site safety patrols as additional duties.
Job Requirements
1. Practical hands-on experience operating wire saws at quarries.
2. Skilled at replacing diamond wire, adjusting machine tension, and resolving common faults such as wire jamming and slippage.
3. Possess basic knowledge of rock face safety control; candidates with prior sandstone quarry experience are preferred.
4. Strong work execution, able to work in open-air quarry conditions and work overtime for urgent production demands. Multi-skilled candidates and candidates with Chinese communication ability are preferred.
Excavator Operator
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct quarry excavation, overburden stripping, sandstone block handling, feeding for crushing production, stockyard sorting and waste removal.
2. Coordinate with diamond wire saw and rail saw operators to lift, relocate and load sandstone blocks.
3. Perform daily pre-operation checks on the excavator’s hydraulic system, tracks, bucket and engine oil, and maintain maintenance records.
4. Monitor slope stability and pedestrian movement during operation to mitigate hazards including rock collapse and vehicle collision.
5. Undertake site levelling and quarry road maintenance, and assist with on-site material organisation.
Job Requirements
1. Hold a valid Australian excavator operation licence with practical experience working on stone quarries.
2. Skilled in delicate handling of sandstone blocks to prevent chipping and damage.
3. Able to complete routine excavator maintenance independently and identify basic mechanical faults.
4. Thoroughly familiar with safety standards for open-pit quarry slope operations; strong sense of responsibility. Multi-skilled candidates and applicants capable of Chinese communication are preferred.
Truck Driver
Key Responsibilities
1. Primarily undertake loading for the crushing plant, and transport sandstone blocks, finished products, waste materials and production consumables within the quarry site.
2. Inspect vehicle brakes, tyres, hydraulics and lights before each shift, and clean the cargo compartment on a regular basis.
3. Load stone materials in compliance with standard procedures and secure loads firmly to prevent falling or damage during transit.
4. Record daily delivery trips and tonnage; report any vehicle faults to maintenance staff without delay.
5. Maintain quarry internal haul roads, yield to on-site workers and abide by all site traffic safety regulations.
Job Requirements
1. Hold a valid Australian heavy vehicle licence with experience operating quarry haul trucks on-site.
2. Prior transportation experience in stone or aggregate quarries, proficient in securing sandstone blocks for transit.
3. Able to complete basic vehicle pre-start inspections and minor routine maintenance.
4. Follow production scheduling instructions and work overtime for urgent delivery orders.
Multi-skilled candidates and applicants with Chinese communication ability are preferred.
Crushing Plant Monitoring & Patrol Operator
Key Responsibilities
1. Be stationed in the power distribution room to monitor real-time operating parameters of the full crushing line, including current, voltage, load and equipment start-stop status. Keep track of all readings for circuits, distribution panels and motors. Immediately stop equipment and report faults such as abnormal voltage, overload, unusual noise and tripping to the Mine Manager and maintenance crew.
2. Conduct regular full-line patrols across the crushing plant, inspecting the whole feeding, crushing, screening, conveying and dust suppression system. Check conveyors, rollers, crushers and silos for blockages, material leakage, abnormal noise, oil leaks and belt misalignment.
3. Patrol internal and external wiring, cables, switches and protective devices of the power distribution room. Maintain dust-proof, heat-dissipation and cleaning standards for the room to eliminate electrical hazards including ageing wiring and piled debris.
4. Accurately complete equipment operation logs, power distribution records and patrol checklists. Record downtime, fault locations and consumable consumption, and document daily crushing output data simultaneously.
5. Monitor site conditions throughout shifts; stop and report any unregulated operation or equipment safety hazards in a timely manner. Coordinate with maintenance staff during shutdown repairs, lock-out/tag-out procedures and assist with basic visual inspection of equipment and wiring.
6. Follow instructions from the Mine Manager. Coordinate with on-site staff for plant start-up, shutdown, material change and blockage clearing, and maintain tidiness around the crushing plant area.
Job Requirements
1. Basic knowledge of electrical and power distribution equipment. Candidates with prior experience as control room attendants or power distribution operators for crushing/aggregate plants are preferred; familiar with full quarry crushing workflows.
2. Able to read basic electrical instrument readings and quickly identify common faults in distribution panels and circuits. Australian entry-level electrical qualifications or quarry safety tickets are highly desirable.
3. Meticulous, steady and patient for long-duration equipment monitoring; complete full-line patrols as scheduled without missing any equipment zones.
4. Familiar with Australian quarry electrical safety standards, proficient in basic safety procedures including power isolation, lock-out and tag-out.
5. Able to rotate between outdoor quarry patrols and indoor power distribution room duties, follow shift rosters and stay on overtime shifts for plant operation; capable of coordinating with excavator, cutting and haulage teams.
6. Basic written record-keeping ability to fill out daily patrol and equipment operation forms clearly.
7. Experience operating mechanical plant is preferred; candidates with Chinese communication ability are preferred.
Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
