## Position Overview
We are looking for a results-driven and commercially minded ICT Business Development Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence across Australia. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the ICT sector, while nurturing existing client relationships to drive sustained revenue growth. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of ICT products and services, a consultative sales approach, and a proven track record of exceeding targets. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, aligning our solutions with their evolving technology needs.
## Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within the ICT sector, building a robust pipeline of prospective clients across target industries.
- Visit and engage with both existing and prospective client organisations to understand their ICT environments, uncover challenges, and present tailored solutions that address their specific needs.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans in alignment with organisational goals, market trends, and revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and senior leaders across client accounts.
- Promote and articulate the value of the organisation's ICT goods and services to clients through presentations, proposals, demonstrations, and consultative discussions.
- Assess and analyse customer requirements to recommend appropriate products, services, and technology solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Collaborate closely with internal technical, pre-sales, and delivery teams to develop compelling proposals and ensure seamless handover upon deal closure.
- Monitor market activity, competitor offerings, and emerging ICT trends to inform go-to-market strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms in line with company policies and client expectations, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, pipeline status, and client interactions within the CRM system.
- Report regularly on business development performance, forecasting, and market insights to senior leadership.
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within the ICT industry.
- Strong understanding of ICT products, services, and solutions, including areas such as cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, managed services, or software.
- Proven ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline, meeting or exceeding revenue targets consistently.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all organisational levels.
- Consultative sales approach with the ability to understand complex client needs and translate them into viable technology solutions.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and standard business productivity tools.
- Valid Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel for client meetings as required.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant ICT certifications such as ITIL, AWS, Microsoft, or Cisco credentials.
- Experience managing government, enterprise, or large commercial accounts within the Australian market.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, tender submissions, and responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Sales, or Technology Management.
- Established professional network within the Australian ICT sector.
