About Precision Body Lab
Precision Body Lab is a body composition and performance testing clinic in Miranda, Sydney. We specialise in DEXA scanning, VO2 Max testing, RMR (resting metabolic rate) testing, and related assessments to help clients understand their body composition, metabolic health, and performance capacity.
We work with a wide range of clients across fat loss, muscle gain, general health optimisation, longevity, and athletic performance. Our role is to turn complex physiological data into clear, practical insights clients can act on.
Role Overview
The Body Composition Specialist works directly with clients to deliver and interpret DEXA scans, VO2 Max tests, and RMR assessments, then guide clients on next steps based on their goals.
This role combines the technical skill required to run cardiopulmonary exercise testing with the communication ability to translate results into practical guidance. It suits a degree-qualified exercise scientist who is confident with clients, comfortable on the clinic floor, and interested in health, performance, and body composition.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold at least one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise and Sport Science, Human Movement, or equivalent (completed, not in progress)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
Applications from personal trainers or non-degree-qualified candidates will not be considered for this role.
Highly Valued (not required)
- ESSA Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) or Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)
- Experience with sub-maximal or maximal graded exercise testing
- Experience working one-on-one with clients in a clinical, performance, or health setting
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultations
- Conduct consultations following DEXA scans and explain body composition metrics in clear, simple terms
- Discuss client goals such as fat loss, muscle gain, or general health
- Deliver VO2 Max testing on a metabolic cart with cycle ergometer protocols, including client screening, mask/mouthpiece setup, protocol selection, and test supervision
- Deliver RMR (resting metabolic rate) testing following standardised pre-test protocols
- Interpret results and produce clear, client-ready explanations of what the numbers mean and what to do next
Client Experience
- Ensure clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their visit
- Answer questions and address concerns about results
- Maintain a professional, welcoming clinic environment
Clinic Operations
- Learn and use the clinic booking and CRM systems
- Assist with client check-in and general clinic workflow
- Maintain testing equipment and adhere to hygiene and calibration standards
