This role plays a pivotal leadership role within The Gap Uniting Early Learning service, combining hands-on room leadership with service-wide operational and educational leadership support.

Support the Centre Director as Second in Charge (2IC), including acting as the Responsible Person
-
Contribute to educational leadership and service oversight, particularly in the Director’s absence
In your day-to-day role, you will:

Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports each child’s development

Mentor and guide educators within your room and across the service
-
Build trusted relationships with children and families
-
Support centre operations including rostering, enrolments, family communication and administrative tasks
-
Act as the Responsible Person when required, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework

Model and embed the values of The Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod
-
Step into the Centre Director role during periods of absence, supporting staff leadership, compliance, safety, and service performance

- Minimum Early Childhood Diploma qualification (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check – Qld)

Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification

National Criminal History Check (assessed every three years)

Eligibility to work in Australia
- Experience supporting or stepping into leadership responsibilities (e.g. Responsible Person, 2IC or acting leadership roles)

Experience leading a room and delivering a high-quality, play-based educational program
-
Strong working knowledge of the EYLF, QKLG, NQS, National Law and Regulations
-
Confidence supporting compliance, documentation and continuous improvement
-
Ability to guide children’s behaviour positively and support individual needs

Well-developed communication skills to work effectively with educators, families and stakeholders

Strong organisational and computer skills
