ASSISTANT VENUE MANAGER

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join our team.
Located in the heart of Mooloolaba or Maroochydore, well-established local venues offering bar, dining, gaming, TAB, Keno, functions, events and live entertainment. As part of Helliwell Hospitality Group, this role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow within a hospitality group and develop their career beyond a standard shift management position.
This role is ideal for someone with previous management experience in a similar pub, tavern or hospitality venue, who is confident overseeing daily operations across multiple areas of the business.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for leading venue operations during rostered shifts, supporting staff, maintaining compliance standards and ensuring our patrons receive a friendly, professional and smooth venue experience.
You will work across a general pub environment, including:
- Bar and dining areas
- Gaming room/pokies
- Keno and TAB
- Functions and private events
- Live entertainment and venue activations
- Day-to-day venue operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff and support smooth shift operations
- Lead by example and maintain a positive team culture
- Provide excellent customer service across all venue areas
- Ensure RSA, RSG and venue compliance standards are followed
- Assist with gaming, TAB and Keno operations
- Support dining service (Bistro style) and bar operations when required
- Help execute functions, events.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and general venue issues professionally
- Open and/or close the venue depending on rostered shifts
- Work with the management team to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming venue
- Support venue initiatives, promotions and operational improvements
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Supervisor or similarhospitality management role
- Current RSA, RSG and RMLV
- AML preferred, or willing to obtained
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Confidence working in a busy pub environment
- Experience with gaming, TAB, Keno or functions highly regarded
- Ability to stay calm, organised and professional during busy shifts
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team where needed
- Availability across days, nights and weekends
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in hospitality management

Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
