SL-Tech Diagnostics is seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join our growing team.
This is an opportunity to work in a specialist diagnostic workshop where no two days are the same. We work on a wide range of vehicles and specialise in complex fault finding, advanced diagnostics, programming, ADAS, EV and Hybrid systems, keys and security systems, diesel and emissions systems, and evidence-based repairs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time position working within a small, family-run business that values honesty, teamwork, continuous learning and professional development.
The role will involve:
- Advanced fault finding and diagnostics
- Mechanical and electrical repairs
- Use of scan tools, factory software and OE information systems
- Diagnostic report writing and documentation
- Customer communication and technical discussions
- Programming and coding
- ADAS calibrations
- Keys and security systems
- EV and Hybrid diagnostics and servicing
- Diesel and emissions system diagnostics
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Have a minimum of 5 years industry experience
- Have strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Be confident using scan tools and wiring diagrams
- Have experience with diesel and emissions systems
- Be able to work independently and efficiently
- Have strong communication and documentation skills
- Be honest, reliable and accountable
- Be willing to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies
- Be willing to undertake ongoing training both during and outside work hours
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Auto Electrical qualification or experience
- Air Conditioning licence
- EV qualifications
- Oscilloscope and advanced testing experience
- Diagnostic workshop experience
