POSITION SUMMARY:
Our client, The Garden of Good & Evil, is currently seeking a passionate and experienced full-time Cook to join its dynamic kitchen team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in preparing consistently high-quality dishes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain the restaurant's excellent culinary standards while contributing to the ongoing success of the venue.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and cook a variety of tapas, share plates, and seasonal menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with established recipes, presentation standards, and portion control guidelines.
- Assist with menu development by contributing ideas for seasonal specials and new dishes.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen, ensuring compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock levels while assisting with ordering and inventory management.
- Minimise food wastage through efficient preparation and stock rotation practices.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Support junior kitchen staff where required and contribute to a positive team culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant, café, or hospitality venue.
- Experience preparing Mediterranean, Spanish-inspired, tapas, or modern Australian cuisine will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- A positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for quality food, creativity, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
