The Australian College of Pioneers (ACP) is seeking an experienced marine industry professional to join our growing team as a Marine Trainer supporting the delivery of the MEM40222 Certificate IV in Boating Services.
This is a unique opportunity for a qualified boat builder or marine tradesperson who is passionate about developing the next generation of marine professionals and helping build a practical, industry-focused training program.
Our students are international students seeking careers in boat building, repair and maintenance within Australia's marine industry. We are looking for someone who can share their knowledge, mentor students, and help create a hands-on learning environment that reflects real industry practice.
About the Role
You will be involved in:
- Delivering practical training activities
- Demonstrating boat building, repair and maintenance techniques
- Supporting workplace-based training (WBT) activities
- Mentoring and coaching students
- Assisting with workshop activities and project-based learning
- Working closely with industry partners and employers
- Supporting the ongoing development of ACP's marine training programs
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction (MEM30719) or equivalent boat building qualification
- Current industry experience in boat building, repair, maintenance or marine manufacturing
- Strong practical skills and industry knowledge
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Passion for developing people and supporting student success
- Ability to work collaboratively with industry and training stakeholders
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent
- Experience supervising apprentices or trainees
- Experience delivering workplace training or mentoring staff
- Fibreglass, composites, fit-out or repair experience
- Electrical or fabrication experience
Training and Development
Applicants who do not currently hold a TAE qualification are encouraged to apply.
ACP is willing to support the right candidate to obtain the required Training and Assessment qualification and transition into a professional trainer role.
