Velflex is one of Australia's leading manufacturers of custom heat transfers, supplying apparel decorators, sporting clubs, promotional product businesses and major brands across Australia and New Zealand.
We're looking for a Graphic Design Apprentice to join our experienced Graphics team in Brendale.
This is an incredible opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification while learning from experienced designers in a real production environment. You'll develop practical skills that can't be taught in a classroom, working on artwork that ends up on sportswear, uniforms, workwear, fashion and promotional products seen right across Australia.

What you'll be learning
Working alongside our experienced Graphics team, you'll receive hands-on training in:
- Preparing customer artwork for production
- Creating and editing vector artwork using Adobe Illustrator
- Basic image editing in Adobe Photoshop
- Colour matching and artwork adjustments
- Setting up print-ready artwork files
- Understanding heat transfer and garment decoration production processes
- Digital printing workflows and production preparation
- Proofing artwork and quality control
- Managing multiple jobs and meeting production deadlines
- Working closely with our Sales, Customer Service and Production teams to achieve outstanding customer outcomes
As your skills develop, you'll have opportunities to contribute to customer artwork, branding projects, new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
We're looking for someone who is passionate about creativity and excited to learn.
You don't need years of experience—we'll provide full training—but you do need the right attitude and a genuine interest in graphic design.
You'll be a great fit if you:

- Have an excellent eye for detail
- Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
- Enjoy learning new software and skills
- Are organised and able to manage multiple tasks

- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
It would be great if you also have:
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop (school, TAFE or personal projects all count)
- A portfolio of school work, personal projects or creative designs (not essential but highly regarded)
- Completed Year 12 (preferred but not essential)

Hours
This is a full-time apprenticeship based at our Brendale facility.
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with training provided entirely on-site alongside our experienced Graphics team.
