We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Tender Estimator to assist our cabinet making and joinery business with preparing accurate and competitive tenders for residential and commercial projects.
Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation and preparing detailed joinery estimates and tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, joinery plans, schedules and specifications.
- Complete detailed joinery/cabinetry take-offs.
- Calculate material, hardware, labour, manufacturing and installation costs.
- Prepare accurate BOQs and cost breakdowns.
- Obtain and compare supplier/subcontractor pricing where required.
- Identify inclusions, exclusions and potential variations.
- Prepare professional quotations and tender submissions.
- Review tender addendums and update pricing accordingly.
- Assist with tender clarifications and post-tender revisions.
- Maintain organised estimating records and pricing information.
- Work with management to ensure tenders are competitive while maintaining appropriate margins.

Requirements
- Previous estimating experience in cabinet making, joinery or architectural joinery is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to read architectural and joinery drawings.
- Good understanding of cabinetry materials, hardware, manufacturing and installation.
- Experience completing quantity take-offs and BOQs.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience with estimating/take-off software is an advantage.
- Familiarity with tender platforms such as EstimateOne is an advantage.
- Good attention to detail and ability to meet tender deadlines.
- Understanding of the Australian construction industry and joinery pricing is preferred.
This position would suit an experienced estimator looking for flexible part-time work. There is potential for ongoing work and increased hours as our tender pipeline grows.
