THE ROLE
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Head of Operations – New Product Introduction (NPI) to lead the global strategy and execution of product commercialisation across our portfolio.
This executive role sits at the intersection of Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial functions, ensuring the seamless transition of innovative products from development into scalable, compliant, and commercially successful production.
This is a highly visible leadership position requiring a balance of strategic foresight, operational rigor, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
RESPONSBILITIES
· Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of production strategies, policies, and operational plans to support successful new product introductions
· Plan and optimise production activities to meet NPI objectives, balancing quality, volume, cost, timelines, and workforce requirements
· Oversee manufacturing readiness, including production line setup, maintenance planning, operating schedules, and availability of tooling, components, and materials
· Monitor production performance, cost efficiency, and scalability during product ramp-up, implementing adjustments to processes and resources to meet commercial targets
· Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to align on NPI milestones, risks, and production readiness
· Lead the acquisition, validation, and commissioning of new equipment and production technologies to support product launches and scale-up
· Ensure accurate and timely production reporting, including NPI progress tracking, KPIs, and operational readiness metrics
· Champion compliance with occupational health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all NPI Production activities
· Build, lead, and develop high-performing operations teams, setting clear performance expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in line with company Values and Principles.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
· 15+ years relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Industry and/or similar discipline
· Proven executive leadership experience in New Product Introduction, Technical Operations, or Production within a regulated life sciences environment
· Deep expertise in cGMP, sterile manufacturing, and global regulatory frameworks
· Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects at scale
· Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering successful product launches globally
· Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability at board and executive levels
· A strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into disciplined execution
