We still make almost everything by hand, using only the finest ingredients and time-honoured techniques. It’s this dedication that makes Bourke Street Bakery what it is today—and we’re looking for passionate Pastry Chefs to help us grow and innovate as we enter our next chapter.
About the Role
As a Pastry Chef, you’ll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, creativity, and collaboration. Your role will include:
- The Daily Production of all types of Viennoiserie
- Supporting day-to-day production processes for efficiency.
- Applying problem-solving skills in a handmade and semi-automated environment.
- Upholding a culture of safety, quality, and pride in every bake.
- Assisting in training and mentoring junior team members.
- Collaborating with the Senior Pastry Chef & Production Manager to maintain high standards.
- Bringing fresh ideas and a love for Morning Pastries innovation to the table.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Experienced (2–3 years in a pastry role). all areas, including Croissant production
- Flexible with availability, including rotational weekends, working a Saturday or Sunday shift
- Early starts are required when you are working in the croissant production
- Energetic, positive, and solutions-focused.
- A clear communicator and natural team player.
- Passionate about pastry, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Able to meet production targets and deadlines with grace.
- Self-motivated, yet thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Fully eligible to work in Australia (No student visa or WHV applicants under 1 year).

Pay: $70,500.00 – $73,500.00 per year
