About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate arborist or tree lover with horticultural qualifcations, to join our team and help maintain the City of Cockburn's urban forest.
Reporting to the Urban Forest Supervisor, you will undertake pruning, removals, establishment and risk mitigation works in line with AS4373 and City standards. This hands-on role involves using plant and equipment safely and efficiently while delivering high quality oucomes. You'll contribute to a positive team environment, engage respectfully with the community, and support storm response and emergency works as required - playing an important role in the safe and effective management of the City's urban forest.
About you
You are a safety-focused and reliable arborist or qualifed horticulturist with sound knowledge of tree species, growth habits and pruning techniques. You bring hands-on experience using arboricultural tools and equipment, along with a strong commitment to delivering quality work in line with standards.
A team player, you communicate respectfully with colleagues and the community, contribute to a positive work environment, and are willing to support emergency and after-hours response when required. Besides demonstrated experience, you’ll need to have:
- Cert II Arboriculture or Cert III Horticulture
- Chainsaw operation ticket
- Provide First Aid qualifcation
- MR License

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 4 Step 1 – Step 4 ($75,176 - $78,468) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
