About The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient individual who is truly passionate about enriching the lives of elderly residents and encouraging our resident’s independence, and wellbeing.
As a valued member of our team, you will:
- Deliver engaging mobility and exercise programs for residents under the guidance of our Physiotherapists.
- Support meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities under the direction of our Occupational Therapist.
- Play an active role in planning and organising innovative therapy programs.
- Lead and facilitate a diverse range of therapy-based activities that inspire participation and enjoyment.
- Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
- Accompany resident groups on outings, helping create enjoyable and memorable experiences.
Requirements of the role
- Hold a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent.
- A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher or experience (Desirable but not essential).
- Have experience in a similar role preferred (Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant).
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Have empathy with the elderly.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.

Located within the heart of Canning Vale, Aegis Amherst caters for up to 133 residents, providing high quality care services in a secure and friendly living environment. Our purpose-built Facility supports our residents’ every need and enables choice in daily activities.
