Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus Superannuation
About Us: Maroubra Dental Centre is a modern dental practice located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Our in-house dental laboratory works closely with our dentists and oral surgeon to provide high-quality prosthetic and restorative solutions. Due to continued growth and increasing patient demand, we are seeking an experienced Dental Technician to support our laboratory operations and collaborate with multiple clinicians across the practice.
Position Overview: The Dental Technician will play a key role in supporting the practice's dentists and oral surgeon by designing, fabricating, modifying and repairing a range of dental prostheses and appliances. Working closely with multiple clinicians across the practice, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of restorative, prosthetic and cosmetic dental treatments while ensuring high standards of quality, functionality and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Interpret dental prescriptions, treatment plans and specifications provided by dentists and the oral surgeon.
2. Fabricate, modify and repair dental prostheses including crowns, bridges, dentures, implant-supported restorations and other dental appliances.
3. Prepare dental models, moulds and casts from impressions and digital intra-oral scans.
4. Select and utilise appropriate dental materials including ceramics, acrylics, metals and composite materials.
5. Operate and maintain dental laboratory equipment and CAD/CAM systems used in the design and manufacture of dental prostheses.
6. Collaborate closely with dentists and the oral surgeon to ensure prosthetic appliances meet functional, aesthetic and patient-specific requirements.
7. Perform polishing, shaping, finishing and adjustments of dental appliances to ensure quality and accuracy.
8. Conduct repairs, relines and modifications of existing dentures and prosthetic appliances.
9. Maintain laboratory records and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
10. Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised and efficient laboratory environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Diploma or higher qualification in Dental Technology or a related field.
· At least two years of relevant work experience as a Dental Technician.
· Demonstrated experience in the fabrication and repair of dental prostheses and appliances.
· Strong knowledge of dental materials, laboratory procedures and quality standards.
· Experience using dental laboratory equipment and CAD/CAM technology.
· High level of accuracy, manual dexterity and attention to detail.
· Ability to interpret clinical prescriptions and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary dental team.
· Strong organisational and communication skills.
