Job Description
Western Honey Supplies is seeking an experienced Apiarist with a minimum of 5 years’ commercial beekeeping experience to join our team.
The successful applicant will manage commercial apiaries, maintain hive health and productivity, and contribute to the production, marketing and sale of premium honey products. A strong understanding of organic Varroa mite management is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial bee colonies and hive health.
- Conduct seasonal hive inspections and colony management.
- Harvest and produce premium honey products.
- Develop and implement organic Varroa mite management strategies.
- Maintain accurate apiary records.
- Support the marketing and sale of luxury honey products.
- Ensure safe work practices and equipment maintenance.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ commercial apiculture experience.
- Experience producing, marketing and selling luxury honey products.
- Proven experience with organic Varroa mite management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial hive management and honey production.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organisational skills.
