Echuca Engineering is a well-established engineering and fabrication business servicing Northern Victoria and Southern NSW. We provide machining, fabrication, repairs, maintenance and compliance services across a broad range of industries including, agriculture, civil, earthmoving, food processing, and specialise in SLP - Safe Load Program inspections and repairs to the bulk fuel and dangerous goods transport industry.
We are seeking an experienced Machinist / Fitter & Turner to join our workshop team.

About the Role
This is a hands-on role involving a diverse range of workshop work including:
- Manual lathe, milling, line borer machine operations
- Manufacture and repair of components
- CNC plasma operations and design
- Machinery repairs and maintenance
- Fitting and assembly work
- Welding and fabrication
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
- Working to quality and safety standards
- Assisting with workshop projects and customer repairs
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have:
- Australian-recognised trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner, Machinist or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years' post-trade experience
- Strong experience operating manual lathes and milling machines horizontal line borer
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience machining to close tolerances and time frames
- Competent using precision measuring equipment including:
- Micrometers
- Dial indicators
- Bore gauges
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer literacy
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Highly Regarded:
- Forklift licence
- HR truck licence an advantage
- Experience in machinery repairs and maintenance
- Experience working within a general engineering workshop
- Experience with agricultural, transport or heavy equipment repairs
- Experience within the bulk fuel or dangerous goods transport industry
