For Purpose Aged Care is creating communities that set the standard in aged care. We are looking for an experienced Head of Learning & Capability to lead our organisation-wide learning, leadership and workforce capability agenda, ensuring our people and leaders are equipped to deliver exceptional care and meaningful ageing.
This is a high-impact senior leadership role within our People & Culture function, reporting to the EGM, People & Culture. You will lead a multi-disciplinary Learning & Capability team, including organisational development, clinical education and learning administration, and partner closely with Operations, Clinical, Quality and senior leaders across the organisation.
About the role
As Head of Learning & Capability, you will shape and deliver the organisation’s Learning & Capability strategy, building the frameworks, pathways and development experiences that strengthen leadership, workforce readiness, clinical capability and regulatory confidence.
A key focus of the role will be establishing and embedding a bespoke, organisation-wide Leadership Academy that builds leadership capability at scale, supports succession and workforce growth, and reinforces For Purpose Aged Care’s commitment to investing in its people.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:

Develop and lead an enterprise Learning & Capability strategy aligned to business, workforce and clinical priorities.

Design, implement and continuously evolve a bespoke Leadership Academy for emerging, frontline, operational and senior leaders.

Build scalable leadership, capability, succession and workforce development pathways across priority roles and workforce groups.

Lead organisational development initiatives that strengthen culture, leadership maturity, organisational effectiveness and workforce capability.

Oversee clinical and non-clinical learning programs, partnering with Clinical, Quality and Operational leaders to address capability gaps.

Establish strong learning governance, reporting and quality assurance frameworks, including mandatory training and compliance reporting.

Oversee the Learning & Capability budget, systems, providers and program evaluation.

Lead, coach and develop a collaborative, customer-focused Learning & Capability team.
About you
You are a strategic, commercially minded and outcomes-focused Learning & Capability leader who can operate comfortably at both enterprise strategy and practical execution level.
You bring deep expertise in leadership development, organisational development, workforce capability and learning governance, ideally gained in a large, complex or regulated environment. You are credible with executive, operational and clinical leaders, and you know how to translate organisational priorities into practical, scalable development solutions that make a measurable difference.
You will bring:

Senior leadership experience in Learning & Capability, Organisational Development or Workforce Development.

Proven experience designing, delivering and scaling bespoke leadership programs for established and emerging leaders.

Experience developing enterprise-wide leadership, capability and workforce development strategies, frameworks and pathways.

Strong understanding of learning governance, mandatory training compliance and capability reporting in a regulated environment.

Experience leading teams, managing budgets, partnering with stakeholders and overseeing external providers.

Confidence using learning management systems and digital learning technologies.
A tertiary qualification in Organisational Development, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Education, Psychology, Business or a related discipline.
Aged care, healthcare or broader regulated sector experience would be highly regarded.
