We are seeking experienced Senior Cloud Solution Architects to join a major enterprise digital transformation program delivering next-generation cloud platforms and AI-enabled solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for senior cloud professionals with extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). You’ll play a pivotal role in architecting secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments that support Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI workloads.
Working alongside architecture, cyber security, infrastructure, and engineering teams, you’ll help establish enterprise cloud capabilities, develop reusable architectural patterns, implement governance frameworks, and deliver cloud platforms that align with strategic business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale cloud transformation initiatives while influencing cloud strategy, architecture, and technology direction across a modern enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
- Lead the deployment of greenfield cloud environments and enhance existing brownfield cloud platforms
- Design and maintain highly available cloud infrastructure supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI services
- Develop secure-by-design cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Lead cloud migration activities, including AI workload migration, data migration, platform integration, and solution optimisation
- Implement cloud governance, security controls, networking standards, and resource management frameworks
- Collaborate with architecture, cyber security, and infrastructure teams to establish enterprise cloud standards and reusable design patterns
- Design end-to-end cloud solutions that align with business objectives, enterprise architecture, and ICT strategy
- Produce architecture documentation, solution designs, technical recommendations, and implementation guidance
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across cloud engineering teams
- Support DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive innovation while ensuring compliance with security, governance, and regulatory frameworks
- Resolve complex cloud platform issues and provide expert technical guidance across large programmes
Key Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proven experience delivering greenfield and brownfield cloud environments, incorporating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and secure-by-design principles.
- Strong experience designing, deploying, and optimising cloud infrastructure supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI services.
- Experience migrating enterprise applications and AI workloads to public cloud platforms, including architecture, platform integration, data migration, and workload optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise cloud networking, including Azure VNets, AWS VPCs, routing, hybrid connectivity, Network Security Groups (NSGs), security groups, subnets, and NAT Gateways.
- Experience implementing cloud governance, identity and access management (RBAC/IAM), security guardrails, and cloud security services such as AWS Security Hub and Azure Security Center.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation technologies including Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to influence architecture decisions across large and complex programs.
Experience designing and supporting cloud networking, including:
- Azure VNets
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
- Subnets
- Routing
- NAT Gateways
- Hybrid connectivity
