Help shape the public conversation around Government priorities through strategic media advice, stakeholder engagement and high-profile communications.
About the Role
This is an ongoing opportunity to join a high-performing media team at the heart of government.
As a Senior Media Advisor, you'll provide strategic media advice and deliver communications that help inform and engage the people of NSW. You'll work closely with stakeholders across government to identify opportunities, manage emerging issues, develop media materials and support major announcements, campaigns and events.
No two days are the same. From responding to breaking issues and coordinating media activities to supporting whole-of-government initiatives, you'll play a key role in delivering communications that make a real impact for the people of NSW.
You will join the Media team within the Community and Engagement Branch, part of the Delivery and Engagement Group. Working closely with Ministerial Offices, the Premier's Office and government agencies, you'll help deliver communications that connect government priorities with the community.

We're Looking For
Media and Communications: Experience developing and delivering media and communications strategies, preparing media materials, and providing advice in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications and Communication Skills: Relevant qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or equivalent experience, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Media Relations: Strong experience working with journalists and media outlets, responding to media enquiries and identifying opportunities to promote key messages

Issues Management: Sound judgement and experience identifying emerging issues, managing competing priorities and providing advice in high-pressure or sensitive situations

Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with Ministers' offices, senior executives, government agencies and other stakeholders.
