What does a Disability Support Worker do?
Disability Support Workers help people with disabilities who are living in their homes with:
· Personal care (showering, dressing, grooming etc)
· Domestic assistance (mopping, vacuuming cleaning etc)
· Social support and transport to appointments and shopping
What do I need to have to be a Disability Support Worker?
· Good people skills
· Willingness to learn
· Common sense and flexibility
· Mature, caring personality
NDIS Clearance check (or willingness to get one if successful)
· Previous experience working with disabilities and/or qualifications such as a Certificate III in Disability for example, is great, but not essential as training will be provided. Personal experience, for example with a family member with a disability, will also be highly regarded.
We are looking for people with bowel care experience.
Driver’s Licence and own car
· 2 references that we are able to contact
What’s in it for me?
· $36.08 an hour (casual base rate) plus Super
· Penalty rates - all paid well above the award
· Shifts available Monday to Sunday mornings from 0700-1000 evening, 2100- start time with a minimum length of 2 hours. Hours can vary so it could be considered supplementary income.
