Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open‑cut coal mining operation located in the western coalfields of New South Wales, approximately 40–50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, near the village of Wollar. Wilpinjong produces high‑quality thermal coal for both domestic and export energy markets and is one of Peabody’s most productive and lowest‑cost operations.

About the role:
We are seeking Production Operators to join our high‑performing Wilpinjong team in permanent positions. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, these roles are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy mining equipment to achieve production and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating heavy mining equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production and cost targets.
- Safely operate heavy mining equipment to meet production plans
- Maintain strong safety and environmental standards at all times
- Work collaboratively within the production team to deliver operational excellence
Equipment Experience (one or more)
- Haul Trucks: CAT 785, 789, 793, Terex MT400
- Graders: CAT 16M, 14M
- Dozers: CAT D10, D11
- Excavators: Liebherr 9350, 9400, CAT 6060, Hitachi EX 5500
Both single‑skilled and multi‑skilled operators with 12 months or more mining experience are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and understanding of its link to productivity
- Competent on one or more of the following: haul truck, dozer, grader or excavator
