DNL Trading Pty Ltd is an established meat processing and wholesale business operating in Victoria. The company manages integrated business operations covering meat receival and processing, production scheduling, weighing and packaging, inventory control, sales order processing, cold storage, dispatch, logistics and financial reporting.
As our operations and business systems continue to develop, we are seeking an experienced ICT Business Analyst to analyse operational requirements, improve business processes and support the enhancement and implementation of our production, inventory, sales, logistics and financial systems.
About the Role
The ICT Business Analyst will work closely with management and users across production, purchasing, warehouse, sales, logistics, finance and administration to identify business requirements and translate them into practical ICT system solutions.
The position will focus on analysing operational workflows, preparing functional specifications, coordinating system enhancements, undertaking system testing and supporting users during implementation.
Key Responsibilities
· Consult with management and users across production, purchasing, warehouse, sales, logistics, finance and administration to identify and document business and ICT system requirements.
· Analyse operational workflows including meat receival, batch recording, production scheduling, cutting and processing, weighing, packaging, inventory control, sales order processing, dispatch, invoicing and management reporting.
· Identify duplicated data entry, manual processing, information gaps, workflow inefficiencies and limitations in existing business systems.
· Recommend improvements to business processes and system functionality relating to production records, stock movements, product and batch identification, order fulfilment, delivery scheduling and financial reporting.
· Prepare business requirement documents, functional specifications, process maps, workflow diagrams, data models and system change requests.
· Translate operational requirements into clear functional specifications for software developers, system vendors and external ICT service providers.
· Coordinate the configuration, enhancement and implementation of production, inventory, purchasing, sales, logistics and reporting system functions.
· Develop project plans, implementation schedules, system testing plans, test cases and user acceptance testing procedures.
· Conduct functional and user acceptance testing to ensure that system changes meet operational requirements and maintain data accuracy and integrity.
· Investigate system and workflow issues reported by users, identify underlying functional causes and coordinate solutions with technical personnel and external vendors.
· Review the integration and flow of information between production, inventory, sales, logistics, accounting and management reporting functions.
· Prepare system documentation, user guides and training materials, and provide training and ongoing assistance to employees.
· Act as the central liaison between management, operational users, software vendors, developers and ICT technical staff during system improvement projects.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
· A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Systems or a related field.
· At least 1 year of relevant experience as an ICT Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or in a closely related ICT role.
· Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
· Experience analysing operational workflows and preparing functional specifications, process maps and system documentation.
· Experience coordinating system implementations, enhancements, testing and user acceptance testing.
· Knowledge of ERP, inventory management, production management, sales order, warehouse, logistics or accounting systems.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with operational employees, management, software vendors and technical teams.
· Strong written and spoken English.
Desirable Experience
· Experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, warehousing, wholesale distribution or another production-based environment.
· Understanding of production scheduling, batch or product traceability, stock control, weighing, packaging, dispatch and logistics processes.
· Experience working with integrated ERP, inventory, production or accounting systems.
Pay: From $92,000.00 per year
