The Team
Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk & Compliance and Global MLRO, we’re looking for an experienced AML & Compliance Officer to join our global Financial Risk & Compliance team.
Your primary focus will be overseeing the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) compliance regime in Australia, while also supporting broader compliance activity across Asia.
This is a highly visible role working closely with business leaders, Legal, Finance and colleagues in the Global Financial Risk & Compliance team. You’ll provide practical, commercially minded guidance and help maintain a robust compliance framework.
How You Will Contribute
As the AML & Compliance Officer, you’ll act as the key day-to-day compliance contact for Australia, supporting client onboarding, risk assessment, sanctions advice and the effective management of A&M’s AML/CTF obligations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Acting as the appointed AML/CTF Compliance Officer for A&M’s Australian reporting entities
Coordinating customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, ongoing monitoring and suspicious matter reporting activities
Reviewing and approving AML onboarding submissions and client risk assessments
Supporting AML and compliance activities across Australia and Asia
Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing potential business impacts
Coordinating training, awareness and policy implementation activities
Supporting internal audits, independent reviews and regulatory examinations
Preparing compliance reports, metrics and management information for leadership and governance forums
Qualifications
To be successful and enjoy this role, you will already have proven (5+ years) experience in AML, financial crime, regulatory compliance or risk management, either from a regulated firm or professional services environment. You’re also detail oriented and are eligible to undertake AML/CTF Compliance Officer responsibilities in Australia.
On top of this you’ll ideally bring:
Strong knowledge of AML/CTF frameworks and customer due diligence requirements
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence
Experience with Australian AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC requirements
CAMS, ICA, ACAMS or an equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential)
A pragmatic and commercially minded approach
Strong attention to detail
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with global teams
