Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and reliable Dental Technician to join our team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will directly work under the supervision of aProsthodontist and support the dental team through the preparation, construction, repair, and adjustment of dental appliances and prosthetic devices. The role requires attention to detail, technical ability, and the ability to work accurately within required timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct dental prosthetics including crowns, bridges, dentures, mouthguards, and other dental appliances based on prescriptions provided by dentists.
- Prepare models and moulds from dental impressions and ensure accurate measurements during fabrication processes.
- Repair, modify, and maintain dental appliances to meet clinical and patient requirements.
- Select and prepare materials used in dental laboratory procedures including acrylics, ceramics, alloys, and other restorative materials.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and tools used for dental fabrication and finishing work.
- Liaise with dentists and clinical staff regarding technical specifications, shade matching, and adjustments required for dental appliances.
- Inspect completed dental work to ensure quality, fit, and compliance with required standards before delivery.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and follow workplace health and safety procedures during all stages of production.
- Utilise digital dental technologies and laboratory software (such as 3Shape or similar CAD/CAM systems) to assist with implant planning, surgical guide design, and preparation of digital models where required.
Skills and Experience
· Certificate IV or Diploma qualification in Dental Technology or a closely related field, or at least three years of relevant industry experience in place of formal qualifications.
· Previous experience working as a Dental Technician is preferred
· Ability to read and interpret dental prescriptions and laboratory instructions
· Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
· Good communication and organisational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
