Forbes Health Service
Some ED roles give you a roster. Forbes gives you a pathway — emergency experience, cross-service variety, close team connection and the chance to build clinical range, responsibility and career momentum.
Forbes ED, with around 7,450 presentations annually, is part of a 35-bed regional hospital that offers genuine clinical variety. It is just the right size to gain broad experience, build confidence and have room for doors to open as your career develops.
Forbes has an energetic ED team with strong peer connection and a genuine sense of momentum. People often describe the welcoming vibe they feel when they join the team. Culture matters, because it directly affects how quickly people settle, build confidence and succeed. The ED team is social, supportive and actively engaged with each other, giving the department a more connected and personal feel than larger hospital environments.
For an experienced ED nurse, Forbes offers a different kind of professional leverage. You work closely with people across the hospital, build relationships with senior clinicians and managers, and can explore wider opportunities that align with your professional goals.
The opportunity in Forbes is tangible. The career of our current ED NUM shows what is possible. She started at Forbes as a new graduate, completed midwifery training away from Forbes, returned to the service, worked across quality and safety while still working clinically, became Nurse Manager, and now acts as Health Service Manager. That is not a vague promise of “career development”; it is a clear example of regional nursing progression from early career through to senior leadership.
Whether your next step is deepening your emergency capability, building maternity, renal or theatre exposure, exploring quality and safety, or positioning yourself for leadership, Forbes gives you a realistic platform to achieve those goals.
Forbes is also a great option for nurses looking for regional living without giving up professional momentum. You can grow your career, be part of a connected hospital team and enjoy the lifestyle, community benefits and affordability of living in the Central West.
Relocation support may also be available through the NSW Government’s Welcome Experience, a free service helping eligible essential workers and their families settle into regional NSW, including support with housing, childcare, partner employment and local connections.
If you want an ED role that gives you a pathway, not just a position, Forbes Health Service is ready to welcome you.
