The Opportunity
The Carriage House is an à la carte café and restaurant located within The Clayfield Retirement Village. Working closely with the Chef Manager, you'll work in a small team to prepare high-quality meals to residents & restaurant patrons. Bringing an à la carte-inspired approach, you’ll prepare fresh, well-presented meals that balance flavour, nutrition, and consistency. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills, build meaningful connections, and enjoy more balance than traditional hospitality settings.
This is a casual position to assist with restaurant operations, bookings or functions! Availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is desired. Apply today and let us know your availability on application.
Your Impact
- Prepare and present fresh, high-quality restaurant meals with an à la carte influence
- Support day-to-day kitchen operations, including ordering, stock rotation, and food preparation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and compliance
- Contribute ideas to upcoming functions, menu changes and continuously improve the dining experience
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Build meaningful connections with residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging
What you'll bring
- Experience as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel, healthcare or quality hospitality environment
- Confidence working independently, while also being a strong team player
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in connecting with residents
- Enthusiasm for working in retirement living and making a positive impact
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery (required) and Food Safety certification (desirable)
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
