About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our injury management strategy, influencing business decisions through data-driven insights and forecasting, and driving initiatives that improve outcomes for our people while reducing claim costs and premium impacts.
As the Injury & Claims Lead, you will act as the organisation's subject matter expert for workplace injury management and workers' compensation, providing strategic guidance and operational oversight across injury claims and associated insurance programs. You will leverage your expertise to influence decision-making and deliver improvements in claim performance, premium management, common law matters, injury prevention initiatives, and claims analytics.
Working closely with operational leaders, insurers, legal representatives and rehabilitation providers, you will build strong partnerships to identify opportunities to improve claim outcomes, mitigate costs and drive sustainable premium savings across the organisation.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will take ownership of complex claims, insurer relationships, legal strategy, regulatory compliance and performance reporting. You will provide expert advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders, escalating matters of significant financial, legal or reputational risk to the General Manager, Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing as required.
While you may provide guidance, coaching and technical support to team members, the primary focus of this role is on strategic leadership, specialist expertise and influencing outcomes across the business rather than direct people management.
