About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to contribute to an exciting research project titled "State of the Art Concrete Precast Plant to Supply Regional Australia." This project aims to explore and advance the development of modern concrete precast plants tailored to meet the needs of regional Australia. The role is remote, with flexibility to work from home, making it an ideal opportunity for candidates based in regional NSW and Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to identify current trends, innovations, and challenges in the concrete precast industry, with a focus on regional Australia.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data from various sources, including industry reports, academic journals, and field studies. Ensure accuracy and relevance of data collected.
- Journal Publication: Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting research findings to reputable academic journals. Collaborate with the research team to ensure high-quality publications.
- Site Visits: Organize and participate in site visits to existing precast plants, construction sites, and relevant facilities in regional Australia to gather insights and data for the research.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate discussions with industry stakeholders, including manufacturers, engineers, and government officials, to gather information and perspectives that will inform the research.
- Design and Engineering Support: Assist in the conceptualization and design of innovative precast plant solutions. Provide engineering support as required, in collaboration with senior researchers.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Automation, Material Science, or a related field. Experience in concrete technology or precast concrete is highly desirable.
- Research Skills: Strong background in research methodologies, data collection, and analysis. Experience with academic writing and publication is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and engineering principles related to precast concrete manufacturing.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Remote Work: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and communities. Aboriginal applicants will be given priority in the selection process.
