About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Chef and based at Suncorp Stadium, an outstanding opportunity awaits a talented and experienced Chef, to elevate the art of food preparation by introducing cutting-edge and safe culinary practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in menu preparation, production, and delivery.
- Plan, prepare, and cook menu items as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Maintain the highest quality of food standards, presentation, and cooking techniques.
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments for collaboration and communication.
- Assist the Executive Chef with ordering, receiving, and stocktakes.
- Ensure high hygiene standards and compliance with Work Health & Safety regulations.
- Ensure smooth and efficient running of assigned section by leading kitchen staff with confidence.
- Fulfill any reasonable requests from the Executive Chef or Venue Catering Manager.
- Foster a food safety environment working alongside the HACCP guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas and report hazards or damaged equipment.
- Meet and exceed guest expectations for the Food & Beverage operation.
- Monitor stock rotation and use-by dates, informing the Executive Chef of any issues.
- Ensure compliance with policies for goods received and monitor quality standards.
- Support and control costs for food, wages, cleaning, and equipment.
About You
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of significant experience providing exceptional chef services in commercial venues. They should also possess the following:
- Confidence in a fast-paced environment, capable of taking initiative, and achieving customer-focused results.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills are essential for systematic food preparation and successful team outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for building positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, and guests.
- The successful applicant needs to be energetic, proactive, and solutions-focused to handle the demands of this busy and diverse role.
Flexibility in working hours, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and public holidays, is necessary due to the role's reliance on the stadium event schedule.
