Kawana Surf Club is looking for a qualified Cook to join our team.
We are looking for a self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of Cook within our company.
Job duties:
- examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
- regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- preparing and cooking food
- seasoning food during cooking
- portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- storing food in temperature controlled facilities
- preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
- may plan menus and estimate food requirements
- may train other kitchen staff and apprentices
Skills and experience Required:
- Cert III and/or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a Cook
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted kitchen operations
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
- A versatile and hard-working person with a practical hands-on approach, who strives to achieve the best outcomes at all times.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Good knowledge of policies and procedures in workplace
