Trade Sales Representative – Timber, Building & Construction Supplies

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Trade Sales Representative to join a growing building and construction supplies business based in Wetherill Park.
This is a field-based sales role suited to someone who understands the trade, construction, timber, hardware, or building supplies industry and enjoys building strong relationships with customers on-site and on the road.
Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for managing existing trade accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and growing sales across Sydney.
This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to work closely with builders, contractors, tradespeople, developers, and construction-related businesses.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with trade, construction, and building industry customers
- Manage and grow an existing customer base
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across Sydney
- Conduct regular customer visits, site visits, and trade account meetings
- Promote timber, building, hardware, and construction supply products
- Prepare quotes, follow up on leads, and convert opportunities into sales
- Provide outstanding customer service and product support
- Work closely with internal sales, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor market activity, customer needs, and competitor activity
- Achieve and exceed sales targets
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven sales experience within timber, building supplies, construction products, hardware, trade supplies, or a related industry
- Strong understanding of trade customers and the building/construction market
- Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills
- A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven approach
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own sales territory
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confidence dealing with builders, contractors, tradespeople, and site contacts
- Current driver’s licence
Work Environment
- Primarily on-the-road sales role
- Servicing customers across Sydney
- Required in the Wetherill Park office approximately 1–2 days per week
- Flexibility to work from home when not on the road or in the office
