Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Critical Care Cardiac Cath Lab team. This is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and make a real difference in the provision of services to the Central Coast Community.
About The Opportunity
As a Clinical Nurse Educator at Gosford Hospital Cardiac Cath Lab, you will be instrumental in delivering expert clinical education and training to promote competence of nursing staff.
The Clinical Nurse Educator (Critical Care – Cardiac Cath Lab) is responsible for leading, coordinating, and evaluating education and professional development activities for nursing staff within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and related critical care services. The role supports the delivery of safe, evidence-based, high-quality cardiovascular care through staff education, competency development, clinical leadership, and quality improvement initiatives.
In this role, you will :
- Develop, implement, and evaluate education programs for nursing staff working in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for new nurses and multidisciplinary team members.
- Assess, maintain, and document clinical competencies for Cath Lab nursing staff.
- Provide clinical coaching, mentoring, and bedside education.
- Facilitate continuing professional development activities and specialty cardiovascular education.
- Support nurses undertaking postgraduate studies in critical care, cardiovascular, or perioperative specialties.
- Provide expert clinical guidance
- Coordinate simulation-based education
Work closely with Nurse Unit Managers, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, radiographers, and allied health staff.

About You
You will bring a strong commitment to high-quality community care and a passion for helping people maintain their health and dignity. You will:
- Hold current registration with the Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse Division 1
- Hold a current drivers licence
- Recent Cardiology/Critical care experience at an advanced practitioner level.
- Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or equivalent education and clinical experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering education and understanding of learning and assessment principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill using technology appropriate to the clinical area.
