Metal Biz Recyclers is one of the leading metal recycling companies in Qld, with three branches across Brisbane. We are looking for an experienced Shredder Plant Engineer to support our team based at Rocklea QLD.

Qualifications and skills: -
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Recycling industry.
· Extensive knowledge of Scrap Shredder’s designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
· Ability to use diagnostic testing software
· Must be able to maintain and be familiar with the safety and environmental concerns
· Organisational and time management skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to use the company’s customised software.

Responsibilities: -
· Responsible for the maintenance of Scrap Shredder Plant, Non-Ferrous plant, and scrap steel supply to steel mills as per specification.
· Maintaining inventory of raw material, finished goods and engineering spares for mechanical maintenance schedule.
· To maintain inventory of all operation spares and consumable items.
· To control the excess consumption and keep within the planned budget for the financial year.
· Planning of preventive and daily mechanical maintenance work.
· Participate actively in the Work Management Process to ensure safety and efficiency.
· Identifies maintenance and operation department performance indicators; develops and communicates Productivity Improvement Plans to track areas identified for improvement
· Maintenance of conveyor gearboxes and hydraulic system.
· Collaborate regularly in a team environment- Safety and maintenance department to achieve the company’s performance goals.
· Diagnose the mechanical or electrical issues of the Shredder and organise the repairs.
· Participate in all production goals and targets
· Responsible for all reporting and record-keeping
· Ensuring the best quality of the finished goods for sales
· Other duties as assigned.
